The AEV 4" DualSport RT Suspension System for the JL Wrangler Unlimited is engineered to deliver maximum off-road capability without compromising on-road stability, steering precision, or overall vehicle control. As a fully integrated system, it accommodates up to 39" tires when equipped with AEV Heavy Duty Adjustable Lower Control Arms, all while preserving proper geometry, balanced ride quality, and predictable handling characteristics.

Unlike conventional lift kits that prioritize height over performance, the DualSport RT system focuses on optimized wheel travel, corrected steering geometry, and system-wide integration—resulting in a suspension system that performs cohesively in all driving conditions.

As with all of AEV’s expedition-ready suspension systems, the 4" DualSport RT Suspension System for the Jeep Wrangler JL is FMVSS No. 126 Compliant. FMVSS No. 126 is a rigorous standard set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that tests new electronic stability control (ESC) systems by subjecting it to various maneuvers designed to evaluate its effectiveness in preventing loss of control and skidding, including evasive lane-changing maneuvers at highways speeds.

The DualSport RT system is engineered to provide the necessary wheel travel and clearance to properly run up to a 39" tire with OEM fender flares when paired with AEV Heavy Duty Adjustable Lower Control Arms. This ensures improved articulation and off-road traction without sacrificing stability or requiring excessive lift height.

AEV’s approach prioritizes real-world drivability. By combining frequency-tuned springs with matched damping, this system delivers composed highway manners alongside enhanced off-road capability—eliminating the common trade-offs found in traditional lift kits.

Corrected Steering Geometry & Improved Control
The included AEV High Steer System addresses the limitations of factory steering components when paired with larger tires and increased ride height

  • Improved Steering Geometry: Raises steering linkages (tie rod by 2.75″, track bar/drag link by 2.5″) to correct geometry after lifting.
  • Enhanced Handling & Stability: Flattens drag link/track bar angles, reduces bump steer and body roll, and moves front roll center closer to the center of gravity.
  • Adjustable Steering Control: Features adjustable steering stops for fine-tuning lock-to-lock steering.
  • Durable Construction: Includes cast iron high steer knuckles, forged steel drag link, tie rod ends, and a chromoly tie rod.

Additionally, the high steer design improves ground clearance of critical steering components, reducing vulnerability in off-road environments.

Important Fitment Notes

  • This suspension system requires wide-track axles, which are standard on Rubicon, Willys, Moab, and several other JL Wrangler trims.
  • Maximum wheel backspacing is 5.2" or less for 37x12.50 tires and 4.9" or less for 39x13.50 tires.
